Named for the Myhelan Cultural Arts Alliance from which we were formed, the word "myhelan" (pronounced mah HAY lon) is Lenape Native American and means "a gathering together of peoples."

The Myhelan Artists' Network ("M.A.N." for short) is centered in north central New Jersey (Long Valley area), and we have been gathering since about 1997. A loosely-organized group of artists, male and female, who work in a wide range of media, the M.A.N. group comes together monthly to share our recent art works, experiments with new media, and other ideas in a positive atmosphere.

We meet the third Wednesday of the month, unless decided otherwise, in various homes of our members (usually 7:30 - 9:30 PM). See specific dates and locations below.

New artists are always welcome. Please bring one or two pieces of recent or representative work to share with the group -- although you are welcome to come with or without work to share. We divide our time between sharing and general announcements. For more information regarding the Artists' Network, feel free to email or call Gail Mardfin at info@myhelanartistsnetwork.org (908) 696-1363.

OUR INTENT: In keeping with the overall inclusive nature of the spirit of Myhelan, the Artists' Network is about bringing together people who want to be encouraged and to encourage others in their artistic pursuits; it is for artists at different levels of expertise who work in different media; it is for sharing ideas and methods with one another, as well as resource information (shows, art stores, exhibits, gallery opportunities, etc.).  For those who are wanting critiques of their work, this can be a forum for that, as well. The meetings are welcoming, informal, informative, laughter-filled, and supportive. The more you attend the meetings, the more you get to know other members. There have been some great friendships that have developed out of this group, and a number of artists' work has really improved over the years as a result of being a member of this group. We also show our work in area exhibition spaces (see our Exhibit Participation Policy below & link to Exhibits at top of page).
